Over the years, I’ve designed countless rods, but this one was different. I wanted more than specs and materials. I wanted meaning. I wanted inspiration worthy of the journey that led me here. And there was no one more deserving than my late father.
The DLE project is built in his honor. It’s feature-rich, purpose-driven, and without question the most rewarding rod I’ve ever designed. DLE stands for Donald Louis Estes—the man who introduced me to fishing, and unknowingly set everything in motion.
